JustGo recently brought together a vibrant community of its Irish customers for its first ever in-person Irish User Forum. On the 30th of April, various representatives from sports National Governing Bodies across Ireland gathered in a room, sharing insights, challenges, recommendations, and future plans within their individual sporting industries.

The event was hosted by Special Olympics Ireland, and its attendees comprised of various key personnel from national sporting organisations including Canoeing Ireland, Irish Ice Hockey Association, Irish Surfing, Pickleball Ireland, Swim Ireland, and Table Tennis Ireland, among others.

With such a wide range of sporting disciplines, each with its own challenges, the key discussion point revolved around how we can work together to solve sports membership and management needs and how JustGo’s membership management system sits at the heart of it. Additionally, we discussed the requirements unique to the Republic of Ireland and how we can address these from a technological standpoint.

We were honoured to host two esteemed customer keynote speakers, Matt English, the CEO of Special Olympics Ireland, and Kate Hills, Head of Safeguarding, Ethics, and Youth Development at Swim Ireland. Their presentations offered invaluable insights into the current challenges faced by the sports community, and highlighted how JustGo has played a pivotal role in addressing these issues in their organisations.

Fatimah Behagg, the Head of Marketing at JustGo, shared, “The JustGo community of over 2.6 million people globally is growing each day, and it’s imperative that we provide a forum for our customers to share insights, research, trends and membership management initiatives to learn from each other. Our regional forums will give our customers a platform in which to share feedback, challenges and ideas, so that we continue to offer the best sports membership experience for our global community.”

The role of a membership management software in sports administration

The importance of a membership software for sports organisations simply cannot be overstated. Managing a sport is no easy feat, and there are numerous existing challenges associated with it, such as managing a multi-tiered member body, securing a large amount of personal data, ensuring accredited personnel, managing events and competitions, communicating with the community, and reporting to key stakeholders

A membership software like JustGo streamlines the complexities within sports administration by consolidating them into a single, user-friendly system. The various functionalities it offers include:

The best part? All of these features are continually evolving, learning from various sporting requirements, mandates from statutory authorities (such as Sport Ireland, Sport England, Sport Scotland and so on), and challenges from the overall sporting landscape.

We’ve witnessed a rising trend in safeguarding challenges across the sporting world, and it is imperative to tackle these as a community. With our collective voices and technological development, we can address these issues head-on, ensuring the wellbeing of our greater sporting community.

We will soon release the key takeaways from the Irish User Forum, where we discuss some of the key safeguarding challenges and solutions that were explored during the event. Stay tuned!
