With a growing member base of around 7,000 athletes, 5,000 volunteers and over 250 clubs, Special Olympics Ireland plays a vital role in driving sports participation among people with intellectual disabilities across Ireland.
They support people of all ages, helping them participate in 15 sports and over 250 disciplines through various training and competitions all year round. The National Governing Body plays a crucial role in developing its athletes, enabling them to learn new skills, experience the joy of sport, and enjoy the camaraderie of a supportive community.
By fostering a sense of belonging and promoting physical fitness, they enhance the athletes’ skills and enrich their lives with lasting friendships and unforgettable experiences.
