The New South Wales Kendo Association (NSWKA) is the martial arts governing body of affiliated Kendo, Iaido and Jodo Clubs in New South Wales region. The martial arts organisation fosters three distinct disciplines: Kendo, Iaido, and Jodo. These sports combine physical and mental challenges—requiring discipline, dedication, and mental toughness.
With over 667 members and 20+ clubs, the organisation oversees annual championship competitions, grading, seminars, and other events within the state. Managing such a wide array of responsibilities is a significant undertaking, and they have selected JustGo’s membership management features to unify their community and simplify their processes.
A standout feature of their JustGo system is the credential management module, which they are using to record member grades (ranging from 6th to 1st kyu, 1st dan, 2nd dan, and so on). Initially, managing this process posed a challenge, as the sport mandates a specific period of practice before athletes can undergo assessments to progress to the next grade.
However, JustGo’s configurability effortlessly addressed this challenge by setting up an automated process that ensures that all conditions are met before athletes can apply for the next grading. As a result, members can easily access their current ranks and prepare for future gradings with ease. Moreover, JustGo facilitates seamless payments, allowing users to pay for grading and certificates through the system.
The New South Wales Kendo Association is also harnessing the power of JustGo’s Event management module to organise and execute various events. They have already successfully pulled off some events, ranging from grading examinations and championships to seminars and volunteer recruitments.
Furthermore, the association is reaping the benefits of JustGo’s standard membership management capabilities, including its email and communication features. This enables it to send custom and bulk emails, helping its administrators segment and tailor its messaging to different audiences. Additionally, they have access to custom reporting features, enabling them to gain valuable insights and make informed decisions about their community.
